If you’re like me, finding a livestream on the day that Doctor Who airs can be really stressful, especially when it goes down a dozen times and you have to find a new one.

So what is it? Tunnelbear is a VPN (Virtual Private Network) that will let any website you visit think that you’re in the UK. (Hint: It’ll also do the opposite and let them think you’re in the US, so take that Hulu and Youtube!) Once you go to the website and download the program, you just have to install it! If you don’t have an account with them, you’ll need to create one. I suggest that you add your twitter username if you have one, I’ll explain why in a bit.

Once you’ve done so, you’re ready to go! You have 500MB per month available to you, to use on any website. Just change the switch on the right to UK and press on when you’re ready to go! Just go to the iPlayer and watch Doctor Who live!

The program is not browser specific though, so if you’re like me and you like to liveblog the show or browse other websites, you’ll probably need to do so from another computer, your phone, iPod, or iPad; since it’ll measure any web usage while you have it set to on.

You’ll probably want more than 500MB if you’re going to be tuning in every week, though, so you have two different options. See that twitter icon in the program window? If you click on it, you can tweet about Tunnelbear and you’ll get an extra 1GB for that month. You can repeat it ever month, too! You can also get a monthly subscription, which will give you an unlimited amount of usage for either $4.99/month or $49.99/year.

This is really important news - if this passes, licensed psychiatrists will no longer be able to offer “therapy” to “cure” gay teens (usually against their will). 

I’m sure that some churches will still offer back alley gay cure’s for stupid parents who want to be stupid.
